Rainbow Stylin'

Hi Mamas,

I'm really proud to launch our little pre-summer treat - Retro Rainbow! This print is all about sunshine, happiness, bright colours and blowing winter clouds away. 

Designing this range just filled me full of joy and it's such a happy print too - a redesign of my original Rainbow print that has been much loved by mamas from original purchase to loving hand-me-downs.

I have to admit that I'm beyond thrilled that the monochrome triangles of a couple of years ago seems to have finally gone away. Not that I don't love graphic designs and triangles too, but I LOVE colour and I love the joy that it brings to little ones.

And much like unicorns and cake, rainbows just seem to put a smile on everyone's faces. Including my own. Yet another range where I ask myself "Why didn't I make one in MY size?!".

DESIGN NOTES:

I'm going to start with the little "Egg" which is what we've nicknamed our rompers this season. I made them quite oversized and roomy because what I like in summer is a lightweight, oversized tee to let the cool breezes in and that I feel comfy and cosy in too. 

Why have we nicknamed it the Egg? Well... I'll let you take a guess!

The Mabel is a new fave of mine and of mamas since it sold out in the long sleeved winter version. The "high/low" style is fun and funky and (I always feel weird saying when I like something that I designed, but here goes) I really love the retro touches! They're so 1970s and really something that I feel so nostalgic for. The fitted bodice, the contrast trims, the raglan style shoulder - just put on your roller skates girl and crank the Bee Gees up LOUD!

Of course I have a super soft spot for the Claudia dress which is one of my first ever fashion pieces. The soft tulle is so sweet and fully lined, and then I've added a trim of lace to give the skirt some drama (drama, drama!). The bodice is Retro Rainbow print of course and this season we added a great design feature of some elastic through the waistband so that there's some extra stretch too. I think this piece looks AMAAAAAAZING on our girls and their faces lit up when they got to wear them. That's what it's all about.

Rosie is one of those pieces that you're going to love to have in your daughter's wardrobe I'm sure. The great thing is that it's a BOGOF (haha I have to laugh because that's what my friend calls her twins "Buy One Get One Free" Bogof!). You get a beautiful swing top (or dress) tunic style with fluttery sleeves and ties at the back to nip it in and you ALSO get a pair of our super popular little Sugar Shorts. Mix-and-Match, wear them together, do whatever you like because they're yours and they're designed to be comfy and fun!

Blossom is a piece that I repeat almost every summer and I love to make this piece in many different prints. This little skirt has an insert bloomer and generous elastic waist (if you want to put a 3Y in our 2Y go for it, it'll be a bit shorter but it'll fit).

The way this skirt MOVES and ruffles and just looks so adorable, it's a great piece, I'm thrilled with how happy it makes mamas (and yeah, you know who you are, those who are collecting every design). And of course... trimmed in contrast print and the addition of a bow. Why not?

Don't forget your Flutter Tee - 10 years on and going strong! I'll never forget our first sample and saying, "those ruffles make our bubba look like a butterfly" in the photoshoot. So of course, "Flutter Tee". The ruffles are edged in lace and, because I love mix-and-match I think that you could put ANY of our tees with this skirt (or Sugar Shorts above).

And hats... Always a hat in Aussie Summers and ours are the BOMB. With toggles and ties to keep them ON and with an oversized but lined brim so you can get full sun coverage and also push it up at front if you need to, they are the best (I think). And on this point I am just going to sing our praises because we work really hard as a design team to make sure that we are always updating and improving and our hats are always in our minds. How to make them fantastic, because even though there are Rainbows outside, it doesn't mean that the sunshine has gone away!
